Open House

Open House is a great opportunity to see Spellman up close and to meet many of its students and teachers first hand.  You will have the opportunity to ask questions and get answers.    [A special, optional, Info Night for accepted students will be held in January.]
 


            Cardinal Spellman High School  accepts students who will be entering the ninth grade based on the following criteria.

  • A review of the student's 6th, 7th, and 8th grade record

  • Past standardized tests

  • Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools (TACHS)

Acceptance notifications mailed --- Jan 17, 2008
Info Night for Accepted Students ---- Jan 30, 2008
Responses due at CSHS --- Feb 14, 2008
Registration for September 2008 --- Mar 5, 2008


 

Finances: Tuition and Fees

For the academic year 2007-2008, tuition and  fees total $6,100.

Academic Scholarships

         Full and partial scholarships will be available to selected students based on the criteria given above as well as on a separate scholarship exam.


Financial Aid

Almost $ 500,000 was distributed for the academic year 2005 - 2006.   However, please remember that almost 1500 students are enrolled at Spellman, so you cannot assume that financial aid will be available for you.  Financial aid applications are available from the school's financial office.

Additional aid is available through programs of the Archdiocese of New York. Information about these programs can be obtained through your parish or elementary school.
 


Spend-a-Day at Spellman         

Young men and women in the eighth grade who are considering attending  Cardinal Spellman High School for their high school education may arrange to spend-a-day as a guest student at Spellman.

You will be accompanied thru the day by a friendly student guide, and will take part in all the activities of a normal school day. You should be here by 8:15 a.m. and the day will end at 2:45 p.m.

Permission is  needed from your parent or guardian and from your grammar school principal. 

You may bring your lunch with you, or purchase it in our Cafeteria.

Information about the TACHS exam may be found by visiting the website, http://www.tachsinfo.com   or by calling the TACHS toll-free number: 1-866-61TACHS    [1-866-618-2247].     
   
Applications for the TACHS exam can be obtained at any Catholic elementary or high school, Religious Education Offices, Parishes, and some public elementary schools.
