US Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor Returns to the Bronx
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, a member of the Cardinal Spellman High School graduating class of 1972, returned to the public housing project in the Bronx where she grew up for a re-dedication ceremony. The Bronxdale Houses will now be named the Justice Sonia Sotomayor Houses.
After being introduced by Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Justice Sotomayor spoke to an enthralled audience. Members of the Cardinal Spellman High School Band, Gospel Choir, and Singing Sensations were proud to contribute to the festivities. At one point, Justice Sotomayor even began to dance on stage with the Gospel Choir and the Spellman Singing Sensations!
